The Bioshield 2 provides a more structured fit than the Bioshield 1. Designed for extended wear comfort, it is super soft with excellent breathability. It has a nose wire and easy to use straps for a custom fit, and of course, has our built-in G95 filtration technology inside from edge to edge.In 2015 the G95 came up with an idea to address a problem we had experienced firsthand — namely air pollution. The idea was to incorporate particulate filtration into apparel. In 2016 they developed our prototype Bioscarf and filed their first patent that covered the new design of embedding washable and reusable filtration material in fabric. That design is the foundation for all G95 gear.
Our G95 filtration material was designed and engineered for integration into apparel. It's durable, and washable for reuse over and over again. It has excellent breathability, and we vigorously tested it at one of the premier testing facilities in the U.S, where it outperformed many of the most popular air pollution masks on the market today. In tests, on average it filtered out 99% of all airborne particles 0.1 microns or larger. Please see the individual tests performed and the test results below.
HOW TO WASH YOUR G95 GEAR? First: Check your individual product wash-n-care instructions for product specific details. Second: Fill a wash tub or sink with room temperature water. Third: Add in a natural detergent and mix to prepare the wash water. Fourth: Submerge the gear, use your hands to mix the water, detergent and soak your gear for up to 15 minutes. Fifth: Rinse well. Use tepid / room temperature or cold water until soapy water is gone and press the water out of the gear. Press item against sink or basin to remove excess water, do not wring or twist item. Sixth: Hang dry.
